Uzbekistan and China universities strengthen academic ties

Diplomats from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan met with Yan Xiangbin, President of the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Chinese side was informed about the large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan's higher education system aimed at improving the quality of teaching, developing cooperation with leading foreign universities, and expanding opportunities for foreign language study.
President of GDUFS highly praised the modernization processes in Uzbekistan's educational sector and expressed interest in expanding international cooperation, including the development of scientific and academic ties with Uzbek universities.
The meeting concluded with agreements to foster cooperation between the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, and GDUFS. The sides aim to launch faculty and student exchange initiatives, alongside developing joint educational programs and research projects.
Established in 1964, GDUFS is recognized as one of China's leading universities specializing in foreign languages, international relations, economics, business, law, and cross-cultural communication. The university accommodates over 30,000 students, including 11 Uzbek nationals, and maintains partnerships with more than 500 higher education institutions across 70 countries.
