New Flight Route Launched Between Tashkent and Guangzhou

Uzbekistan Airways successfully operated its inaugural flight on the newly established Tashkent–Guangzhou air route, reports a correspondent for the "Dunyo" Information Agency.
At Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, located in the capital of China's Guangdong Province, the aircraft and its passengers were warmly welcomed in a formal ceremony attended by regional aviation officials, airport administration executives, senior management from Uzbekistan Airways, and media representatives.
Qi Yaoming, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, emphasized that the launch of this new air service represents more than just an expansion of the "aerial corridor"; it serves as a modern continuation of the ancient Great Silk Road.
According to Mr. Qi, establishing direct air connectivity between Guangzhou—one of China’s premier international trade hubs and the nation's "southern gateway"—and Tashkent, a pivotal transport and logistics hub in Central Asia, will further stimulate the expansion of bilateral trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian ties.
Chinese tourists highly praised the expansion of direct air services between the two nations, noting that the new flights offer enhanced opportunities to explore Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage, including the world-renowned heritage sites of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva.
Flights on this new route commenced on May 28 and will operate once a week, on Wednesdays. With this addition, the total frequency of direct flights between Guangdong Province and Tashkent has reached 12 weekly frequencies.
