President of Uzbekistan to attend Voice of the Global South summit
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in the plenary session of Voice of the Global South Summit on 12 January, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the Republic of India.
The event, which will be held in online format under the chairmanship of the Indian side, will also be attended by heads of states and governments of Bangladesh, Cambodia, Mongolia, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam. Delegations from a total of 120 countries have been invited.
The aim of the summit held as part of India's G20 presidency is to exchange views and develop concrete proposals for deepening mutually beneficial cooperation to promote the interests and address pressing issues of developing countries, including in the areas of economy, environment, energy and food security, health, human resource development, innovation, tourism and other areas.
